This step-by-step guide describes how to record Field Pack events on your Android device.

Creating a Field Pack Event

  1. On your Android device, open the Croptracker app and log in.
  2. From the dashboard, select the Field Pack option; Here you'll see a list of all existing field pack events.
  3. At the top of the list, select Tap to create a new field pack event...
  4. Select a Date, enter the Lot Number, select one or more Products, and specify which Blocks you're field packing in. Record any food safety information, add any notes or comments, and tap Save and continue to pallets.
  5. Here you'll see the list of pallets you've created in this Field Pack event. Note: to get back to the list from the field back event list, tap the Options dropdown next to your event and select Pallets
  6. Next to the appropriate product header, tap the New Pallet button, then select how many pallets you want to create.
  7. Now that you have the empty pallets prepared you can proceed to creating masters.

Note: If you intend on paying piecemeal rates, this is the point at which you'll want to Bulk Punch your employees into the Piecemeal Harvest activity - learn how the punch clock and paying piecemeal works by clicking here.

Creating Masters

You have two options for creating masters depending on which workflow you're following:

Scanning - Detailed & Streamlined Field Pack Workflows:

  1. From the Field Pack event's Pallet List, open the context menu in the top right corner and select Scan Master Tags.
  2. When an employee brings a new master use the camera to scan the QR code on either the Master Tag or Reusable Tag (depending on your workflow).
  3. The app will beep when the tag is scanned, and the tag's code will appear next to the Master Tag label.
  4. Select which Pallet this master is going on, which Block it came from, and either scan the employee's badge or select the Employee from the list.
  5. Tap Save Master to finish.

Manual entry (internet connection required) - Bulk Checkout Field Pack Workflow:

  1. From the Field Pack event's Pallet List, open the context menu in the top right corner and select Scan Master Tags
  2. On the scanning screen, tap the List icon in the top right corner (next to the QR Code icon).
  3. Select a Product and a Style, then enter how many masters you want to create.
  4. Specify which Pallet these masters are going on, which Block they came from, and optionally which Employee picked the masters.
  5. Tap Save Master to finish.

Notes on syncing scanned masters

  1. Since the internet connection out in the field may be intermittent the app does not sync the scanned master to Croptracker immediately upon clicking Save Master and is instead saved locally to your device.
  2. Every minute the app will automatically attempt to sync the scanned masters up to Croptracker.
  3. To manually trigger an sync, navigate to the Pallet List for this field pack event and select Sync Masters from the context menu in the top right corner.
  4. Optionally you can tap an individual pallet to view a summary of its masters and their sync status (or use View Masters from a pallet's options dropdown).
  5. The Synced Masters list will display which masters have been successfully synced and uploaded for a pallet.
  6. The Unsynced Masters list will display any masters that still need to be synced. This is also where any sync related errors will be displayed.
